This SOLID BLACK CRYSTAL Opal is from the Lightning Ridge mining fields in Australia.

The fire in this opal moves continually as the opal is rotated showing in a 3 dimensional pattern. Lustrous colours of golden green and cornflower blue, sparkling over a background hue of purple, giving a superb colour play. Great in all lights.
