This SOLID BLACK Opal is from the Lightning Ridge mining fields in Australia.

Very bright neon rainbow broad rolling flash moves continuously over the face of the opal. The broad rolling flash moves through several colours, from red orange to yellow and green, from turquoise, various shades of blue and ultra violet. The colours move quickly on rotation, moving over a background of ocean blue. The opal has a different show at every angle; great in all lights.
